I have been sitting here trying to get my fingers to type something, but I can't even muster the words to say. I knew this day was coming, but even preparing myself for "the post" didn't soften the blow, or my heart stopping as I read the first line of the post, or the tears from overflowing. I can barely see the screen through my tears and am cursing myself for not wearing waterproof mascara today. The world will never be the same without that little boy. Rest in peace, sweet little Stephen. I love you with all my heart!
Stephen Chao Peterson
Our dear son, Stephen Chao Peterson passed into our Lord and Savior's arms this morning at 11:01am.
It happened shortly after he communicated (by blinking) to Amber and me that he wanted the kids to come to him.
We
each told him we loved him, sang "Families Can be Together Forever",
and said a family prayer. Then we each told him how much we loved him
again and that it was ok to go. We didn't tell him goodbye, but that we
would see him later.
Sabin
struggled to say anything at first, but finally she mustered all of her
voice and told him the same and that she would do everything she could
to be with him again. She also reassured him she would be ok.
Just
as soon as he heard Sabin's words, his eyes opened wide and looked
upwards while taking his last few breaths. Then he suddenly went from
us as we all held his body in our arms.
WE LOVE YOU STEPHEN!
SEE YOU LATER...
Stephen: "I love you infinity, infLinity, and infLinity is more than infinity, Daddy."
Thank you to ALL OF YOU who followed in this journey with us. Your kind words, letters, packages, and prayers meant more to the family than you will ever know!
Here is the song the family sang at Stephen's bedside as he spent his last moments here on earth. Through God's goodness, FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER. :) *I need another Kleenex.*
Rest In Peace, Stephen Chao Peterson.
17 people leaving some love!:
This is tragic. I don't know why, but I prayed and prayed for a miracle for this sweet little boy. It is so sad, that his family has to endure this heartache. It makes me so thankful that we do believe in something MUCH MORE than any of this.
It makes me terrified to have children, I cannot even imagine the ache they are feeling. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
Natalie, I am just bawling. I loved little Stephen even though I never knew him. I will continue to pray for his family. What heartbreak.
Oh no, Natalie. Tears and more tears hearing this news. It sounds like Stephen's passage was as comfortable as possible, with his loving parents by his side. I will continue to pray for his parents. I can't imagine the pain they are going through.
Big (((HUGS))) to you!!! Sending all my love your way.
So sorry for your loss. May the Lord give you the strength and courage for the days ahead. I will pray for you all.
Hugs
Deneen

May that sweet, precious, baby boy now rest in peace with God in heaven. Bless his little heart for all he had to endure. :*( Praying for peace for you and all of his family. As a mother of two, I simply cannot imagine what this poor family has been through. SO SAD. So, SO SAD.
May all of your angels above {Stephen now included} wrap their arms around each of you during this difficult time, Natalie.
Love, light, strength and hugs your way~
Amanda
May I have their address?
Natalie,
My heart aches for your family and for little Stephen's family. He was a little treasure sent from heaven and I hope you can find the peace you need at this sad time. You and your family are in my prayers. Love you!
I am so, so sorry for your family's loss. Stephen has touched my life. What a sweet, loved and loving little boy. Sending prayers your and his family's way. :(
I don't even know how you would go about writing a post like this. Thank goodness for a loving Savior and Heavenly Father who makes being a family FOREVER possible. There will always be a hole in your heart where that person was but it would be unbearable if it weren't for the plan of salvation.
May Stephen rest in peace and God Bless to all of you that you may move forward knowing that you will one day be reunited with this sweet little boy.
So sad. I have been really impressed at the kind of people his parents are. They have inspired me to appreciate and love my kids more.
This is heart wrenching. I have been following Stephen's story off and on for the last 5 months. I didn't realize until tonight that he was diagnosed with an AT/RT tumor. My friend Sherry just lost her 5 year old son to the same kind of cancer 2 months ago. She started a blog when he was diagnosed about 18 months ago called prayersforlogan.blogspot.com
She is still currently blogging on it as she is going thru the grieving process. Its raw and emotional but its an amazing story and I would recommend it to you and to Stephen's family. My prayers will be with you all as you grieve this precious little boy.
I just now saw this...my heart is breaking for your cousin and his family. I've been following Stephen's story. Lots of hugs and prayers for you all!
Natalie,
I just came across your blog for the first time as I was browsing Pinterest. We could totally hang! :) Although I would learn way more from you than the other way around. ;) I loved looking through your creative projects and I love that you do step-by-step pics for us visual learners. :)
I am aslo so so so sorry for the loss of Stephen. I am so glad to see that you are sold out to our Lord and Maker! I am praying that He will be the Ultimate Comforter through this!
Much love,
Mindy :)
Oh I am so sorry for the loss of such a precious little boy! I have been following his story and it's almost like I knew him. Thank goodness for the knowledge that families are forever!
Natalie, I am SO very sorry for your family's loss. I read this when you first posted it and immediately went to the Lord in prayer for you all, and I am just now getting around to letting you know how much you all are in our thoughts right now. He was truly a special little boy whose story is inspiring to so many!!
