*UPDATE* I took Whitney to the Doctor and it isn't Lyme Disease! Apparently there isn't Lyme Disease here in Colorado. Who knew? The bite has completely faded and not just looks like a mosquito bite. Maybe she had some sort of a crazy allergic reaction? I don't know, but I am SOOO relieved that it isn't Lyme Disease!
So, I'm kind of freaking out right now. Yesterday Whitney was complaining of a headache and being "soooo tired", I thought she was just being dramatic. Then, today, we noticed this on her arm. And it keeps getting bigger. So, I Googled "bug bite with red ring around it" and was horrified when I saw the results. A zillion things about Lyme Disease came up. And then it occurred to me that we had just been up to the mountains on Memorial Day weekend. She totally could have been bitten by a tick then. So, here is a picture of Whitney's bite...
And here are some of the Google images.
They look pretty dang similar. (craaaaaap.) So...my question is, have you or anyone you know had Lyme Disease? If so, what did they do about it? Was the rash like this? Or, if you've had a rash that looked like this, what was it from?
And of course, the Dr. offices are now closed, so I basically get to just worry myself to death all night until first thing in the morning when I can see if they have any openings at our local clinic. Oh, please, oh please don't let it be Lyme Disease....
15 people leaving some love!:
It sure looks like it. I believe they will put her on antibiotics to cure it. A friend's son had it. And it cleared up and he is fine.

I am sorry, but I am pretty sure you have Lymes. get anti biotics as soon as possible, urgent care at your local hosp. also look into MMS for a treatment. jimhumble.com. this may be your only hope, as MMS cures Malaria, and is cheap and easy. don't believe the scare stories about it. no one has died yet and people have been using it all around the world for decades. hope this helps. blessings. paisley
Can you call your peiatrician. Mine is always so reasuring. She tells me to come in the next day or if it is TRULY an emergency. Deciding is always the hardest part for me. Good luck. So sorry.

Hi Natalie, best to be safe and go to your Emergency Department at your local hospital. I hope she heals soon. I'm just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

Oh my goodness! I'd be freaking out too! I don't know anything about Lyme disease but those pictures sure look similar. I'll be praying for you and your daughter and I'll be checking in for updates.
Hugs.
Oh my goodness. Scary! Whitney's bite looks an awful lot like the Google images. Hope all goes well.
I don't have any experience or advice, but the pictures sure do look similar. I can't imagine how beside yourself you probably are!
Email and let me know how she is doing when you find out more info...until then, I'm praying for you guys!
I would get it checked out asap! The good news is that Lyme Disease is easy to take care of if caught early. My cousin's wife has been super sick for YEARS and they could never figure out what it was. Guess what? Lyme Disease! So crazy. She couldn't even walk. And the dumb thing is that they should have figured out what it was right after it happened, not years after. So I'm glad you've caught it early!
Uncle Lynn had Lyme disease, I think! I agree that she needs urgent care. Call your pediatrician's on call service if they have one. Heck, you can call Mark if you want to. Email me if you want his number!
That definitely looks like it. :( I always get worried about that. my nephew had it for a few weeks before they caught it and he's fine because he had the antibiotics. Take him in when you can, but be sure not to panic. It'll all be fine.
I just stopped by your blog by way of Pinterest, and saw this post. I would get her to the ER as soon as possible. Lyme Disease can be very difficult to diagnose, and can get very serious. I know that not every case is like this, but I do know a girl who has it and things are not going well for her at all. Please, get it checked out urgently!
Best of luck!mine
My son was just diagnosed with Lyme's. Yesterday we were actually at a Lyme specialist. She said he just needs amoxocillin (however you spell that) for 2 weeks, 3x a day. Our Dr. gave him the wrong stuff so I'm glad I went to the specialist. She said once that is done he'll be all set, no worries. Good luck!
please check out the ILAIDS website. I have had lyme disease and it became a chronic illness as it went misdiagnosed for years and years. that website is the only one to trust. there is MUCH inaccurate information out there and doctors in most areas STILL don't have the facts about it nor seem to care to. best wishes to getting an early diagnosis and proper treatment and observation.and for years of good health to your family. Missy
has anything further developed from this bite and bullseye? How is Whitneys health now? I hope everything is just fine but would love to hear from you?
